Reeling in Recovery: The 4th Annual Wheelhouse Alumni Association Fishing Tournament
There’s something powerful about a quiet morning on the water — rods cast, hearts open, and a shared sense of purpose in every boat. That spirit was alive and well at the 4th Annual Wheelhouse Alumni Association Fishing Tournament, where healing, hope, and community took center stage.
This year’s tournament was a remarkable success, with 30 fishing teams casting their lines for a cause that matters deeply to us all — recovery. Thanks to the incredible support from participants, sponsors, and friends of The Wheelhouse, we raised over $28,000 — a record-breaking total!
Those funds directly support The Wheelhouse’s free 30-day recovery program, helping cover the costs for 46 men to begin their journey to sobriety. That’s 46 lives changed. Forty-six men will be given a second chance. 46 families with renewed hope.
The Alumni Association – Who They Are
The Wheelhouse Alumni Association is made up of men who have been profoundly impacted by their time at The Wheelhouse. It’s more than just an association - it’s a brotherhood, and for many of them, it was the beginning of a brand-new life.
Their mission is simple: support the men of The Wheelhouse and give back to the place that gave so much to them. They are focused, organized, and deeply invested in helping others find the freedom they have found. Whether it's providing practical needs, emotional support, or funding for essential services and projects, they step in where they are needed most.
Community Makes It Happen
This tournament wouldn’t be possible without the 22 generous corporate sponsors who stepped up to support this cause. Their involvement is all about believing in second chances, in recovery, and in the power of community.
Each dollar raised helps us fulfill our mission. Every cast, every catch, and every conversation on the water moves our cause forward. It's a clear reminder that recovery is not a solo journey — it’s a shared effort, and when we come together, we can make waves that last a lifetime.
We’re incredibly grateful for the Wheelhouse Alumni Association and for everyone who participated, donated, volunteered, or spread the word. Whether you're reeling in a trophy fish or helping someone reel in a new start at life, you’re part of something bigger — and it matters.
Stay connected for next year’s tournament happening on June 20. 2026. Until then, The Wheelhouse and this alumni group will keep doing the work we do - one man, one day, one step at a time.
