Why it matters
Paying off the loan removes monthly debt service. Those dollars can move to direct care, stable housing, job support, and family reunification. The Wheelhouse can serve more men with reliable resources and a stronger base. We want our dollars to go directly to benefit men in recovery, rather than paying interest to the bank.
How the match works
One of our generous board members, Jeff Barnett, has agreed to match every dollar you earmark for the loan payoff through December 31, 2025, until we pay off the $840,000 loan from building the extension to The Wheelhouse. Gifts must be designated for the loan payoff to qualify. Program gifts support daily services and are not included in the match.

What is the goal?
Raise $420,000 in earmarked gifts by December 31, 2025. The board match will double these dollars to retire the $840,000 loan.
What gifts qualify for the match?
Gifts must be earmarked for the loan payoff and received between October 1 and December 31, 2025.
How do I earmark my gift?
Include this note online, in email, or on your check. “Please earmark my gift for the loan payoff to be matched 1:1 if received by December 31, 2025.”
Are program gifts matched?
No. Gifts for programs support daily services and are not included in the loan payoff match.
Can I give from my DAF, stock, or IRA?
Yes. You can give through a donor-advised fund, appreciated securities, a wire transfer, or a qualified charitable distribution from an IRA. Ask your advisor to include “Loan Payoff Match” in the notes. Contact [NAME, EMAIL, PHONE] for DTC and routing details.
Will my name be public?
We list supporters on our website and in marketing materials. If you prefer to remain anonymous, select “anonymous” at checkout or tell us in writing.
Can my employer match my gift?
Yes. If your employer offers a match, we will credit both gifts toward the campaign. Employer matches are separate from the board match.
What happens if we exceed $420,000?
Funds earmarked for the loan payoff go to principal reduction and interest savings. We will report final totals and next steps in January.
